At Perfumehandmadei, we take pride in creating high-quality, handmade candles. We stand behind the quality of our products and are committed to ensuring your complete satisfaction. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, we want to make it right.
Return and Exchange Policy
Due to the handmade nature of our candles and for health and safety reasons, we have specific policies regarding returns and exchanges. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.
Return Timeframe
You have 14 days from the date of delivery to initiate a return or exchange. Returns must be initiated within this timeframe to be eligible.
Eligible Returns and Exchanges
We will accept returns or exchanges for the following reasons:
- Damaged Items: If your candle arrives damaged during shipping (broken glass, cracked wax, etc.)
- Manufacturing Defects: If there is a defect in the product (improper wick placement, air bubbles affecting burn, etc.)
- Wrong Item: If you received a different product than what you ordered
- Unused Products: If the candle has not been lit, used, or removed from its original packaging
- Unsatisfactory Quality: If the product does not meet our quality standards (we will evaluate on a case-by-case basis)
Non-Returnable Items
We cannot accept returns or exchanges for:
- Candles that have been lit, burned, or used in any way
- Items purchased more than 14 days ago
- Sale items, clearance items, or promotional items marked as "Final Sale"
- Items that have been damaged due to misuse, abuse, or improper handling by the customer
- Items returned without original packaging or without prior authorization
- Personalized or custom-made items (unless defective)
How to Initiate a Return or Exchange
To start a return or exchange, please follow these steps:
- Contact Us: Email us at support@perfumehandmadei.world within 14 days of delivery
- Provide Information: Include your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for return
- Include Photos: If the item is damaged or defective, please attach clear photos showing the issue
- Wait for Authorization: Do not ship the item back until you receive return authorization and instructions from us
- Ship the Item: Once authorized, package the item securely in its original packaging (if available) and ship it to the address we provide
We will respond to your return request within 2-3 business days. Once your return is approved, we will provide you with a return shipping address and any additional instructions.
Return Shipping
For Damaged or Defective Items: We will provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you.
For Other Returns: Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, unless otherwise specified. We recommend using a trackable shipping method and purchasing shipping insurance, as we are not responsible for items lost or damaged during return shipping.
Original Shipping Costs: Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error (wrong item, defective product, etc.).
Refund Process
Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will process your refund as follows:
- Inspection Period: We will inspect returned items within 3-5 business days of receipt
- Refund Processing: Approved refunds will be processed within 5-7 business days after inspection
- Refund Method: Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase
- Refund Amount: You will receive a refund for the product price. Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error
Please note that it may take additional time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund to your account. This typically takes 5-10 business days after we process the refund.
Exchange Process
If you would like to exchange your candle for a different scent, size, or product:
- Contact us at support@perfumehandmadei.world with your exchange request
- We will confirm availability of the item you wish to exchange for
- You will need to return the original item following our return process
- Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will ship the exchange item
- You will be responsible for return shipping costs unless the exchange is due to our error
- If the exchange item costs more, you will need to pay the difference
- If the exchange item costs less, we will refund the difference
Damaged or Defective Items
If your candle arrives damaged or has a manufacturing defect:
- Contact Us Immediately: Email us at support@perfumehandmadei.world within 48 hours of delivery
- Provide Photos: Include clear photos showing the damage or defect from multiple angles
- Include Order Information: Provide your order number and a description of the issue
- Resolution Options: We will offer one of the following:
- Full refund (including original shipping costs)
- Replacement item shipped at no cost to you
- Store credit for the full purchase amount
We take product quality seriously and will work quickly to resolve any issues with damaged or defective items.
Shipping Damage
We package all orders with care to prevent damage during shipping. However, if your order arrives damaged:
- Take photos of the damaged packaging and product immediately upon receipt
- Contact us within 48 hours of delivery
- Do not discard the damaged item or packaging until we have resolved the issue
- We will work with you to provide a replacement or full refund, including shipping costs
Late or Missing Refunds
If you haven't received your refund yet:
- Check your bank account or credit card statement
- Contact your bank or credit card company - it may take some time before your refund is officially posted
- If more than 10 business days have passed since we processed your refund, contact us at support@perfumehandmadei.world
Store Credit
In some cases, we may offer store credit instead of a refund. Store credit:
- Does not expire
- Can be used for any future purchase
- Cannot be transferred to another person
- Cannot be redeemed for cash
International Returns
Currently, we only ship within the United States. If you are located outside the U.S. and have questions about returns, please contact us.
Gift Returns
If you received a candle as a gift and would like to return it:
- Contact us with the order number or gift receipt
- We can issue store credit for the value of the item
- Refunds for gift purchases will be issued as store credit unless the original purchaser requests a refund to their original payment method
